Bio
Laura Rogers (she/her) is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Utah. She leverages both quantitative and qualitative data to analyze the complex work of school district improvement. Dr. Rogers’ work has been published in major outlets such as Educational Administration Quarterly, Educational Researcher, The Elementary School Journal and Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis. She is also a co-author of three reports released by The Wallace Foundation evaluating its Principal Supervisor Initiative.
Dr. Rogers’ currently leads several projects exploring how the implementation of top-down policies, programs, and systems shape the work experiences and outcomes for K-12 education professionals. With colleagues at Vanderbilt, she is part of a Wallace Foundation-sponsored examination of districts’ take-up and participation in principal pipeline learning communities (PPLC). She is the principal investigator on two funded projects that examine the relationship between Utah educators' wellbeing and their subsequent performance and turnover.
Dr. Rogers received her Ph.D. in Leadership and Policy Studies (education policy) from Vanderbilt. Previously, she taught elementary school (K-2) in Colorado and EFL in rural Japan.
